SITE SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE (SSR)
Each Hawkins Construction site has an SSR. The SSR works alongside superintendents and safety leadership to identify and correct hazards before they become incidents.
If you’re new to a project or unsure about a procedure, the on-site SSR is your resource.

Training Programs.
If you want to improve, move up, or expand your capabilities, Hawkins’ structured training programs are the place to get it done. All programs are developed and led internally by experienced field leaders who understand the job.
CRANE OPERATOR PROGRAM
Designed to develop qualified crane operators from within Hawkins to support an expanding fleet and increasing project demands.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of employment
Prior equipment operator experience or secondary skill set
500+ verified crane seat hours before testing
Qualified rigger and signalman
CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Clear classifications, defined expectations, real advancement, this program allows employees to gain new skill sets and move into higher classifications under the guidance of experienced field leadership. When you’re ready to advance, Hawkins has a path.
WINTER TRAINING PROGRAM
January through March, we offer structured, entry-level training (in both Spanish and English languages) focused on strengthening core field skills and safety certifications. Open to all employees.
Basic Welding
Paving Hubs and Grade Stakes Concrete Forming (EFCO/Doka/Jahns)
Equipment Training (Forklift Certification, Aerial Lift Certification)

GRADUATE PROGRAM
This program strengthens leadership, project oversight, material coordination, equipment management, and safety accountability to prepare college interns and lead craftsmen for superintendent-level responsibility.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years field experience.
3 years as a lead person (or 2 years internship + degree).
Completion of field classifications.
Ability to manage personnel, materials, and safety requirements.
