Many of Hawkins’ leaders started their career in the field as interns. That tradition continues to this day. You’ll learn by doing, side-by-side with seasoned mentors, to understand how projects come together from start to finish and gain real opportunity to lead the Hawkins way.

Career Development Program

The Hawkins Career Development Program is for people who want to build a long-lasting career in construction and keep improving over time. You’ll get hands-on field training, mentorship, and structured learning to build your skills and take on more responsibility as you go. 

The program focuses on developing practical knowledge, leadership, and understanding how the work comes together in the field.

Apprenticeship Program

If you’re willing to work hard, show up with a good attitude, and build a long-term career in construction, this program is a great starting point. 

As part of our Career Development Program, this track is designed to help you build and strengthen the skills needed to move forward in the trade. 

You’ll learn: 

  • Blueprint Reading 

  • General Construction Knowledge 

  • Hazard Communication 

  • OSHA Safety 

  • Intro to Construction Math 

Completion of this program requires 5,000 hours of hands-on experience in the field and classroom learning. 

TRAINING FOR THE WORK.

We hold training to the same standard as our work. Whether you’re new to the trade or bringing years of experience, we'll help you improve, sharpen your skills, and lead the Hawkins Way. 

Pile Hammer Class

Class that covers maintenance and operation of our diesel pile hammers and vibratory hammers, as well as the complete process of installing deep foundation systems.

Elevations Class

Introduction to basic surveying and contract drawing interpretation. Employees receive hands-on training with industry instruments and learn directly from experienced field experts and leaders in their craft.

Concrete Forming

An introduction to common types of forming systems that Hawkins uses. Multiple types of steel gang form systems, the Jahn system, both conventional and stay-in place decking, and rebar tying.
